This 22-year-old psychopath is responsible for the stabbing deaths of three housemates and a mass shooting that claimed three other lives in Santa Barbara on Friday night.
It was a deadly rampage that, according to a 141-page manifesto, Elliot Roger had been planning for several months. In all, Elliot Roger killed 6 innocent victims and wounded 13 others before turning the gun on himself.
In his manifesto and a series of YouTube videos, the Eurasian male offers this explanation for his horrific actions.
What is emerging from the videos, the manifesto and carefully curated social media presence is a portrait of a deeply misogynistic and racist male suffering from emotional isolation and an inability to connect with others.
Elliot Roger is the son of Peter Roger, an assistant director on the Hunger Games film series.
His Facebook page suggests a life of affluence and comfort ... such as these selfies depicting First Class international travels.
The manifesto claims his family arranged for counseling with psychiatrist and television personality Dr Charles Sophy.
A lawyer for Peter Roger says his family reported their son to health authorities after learning about his disturbing videos.
Indeed, in the document, Roger Elliot writes how he police officers visited him ... and how his plan would have been discovered if they searched his room and found his weapons.
But that search never took place. Police found him to be a 'perfectly polite, kind and wonderful human'.
