France’s new Prime Minister Manuel Valls says a strong single currency risks undermining his government's efforts to make France more competitive. But Jean-Claude Trichet, former President of the European Central Bank, thinks otherwise. "To put all the burden on the Central Bank is wrong", he says, "because inflation depends also very very much, in some countries, on social partners, depends very much on investments in the country itself."
