Paris Fashion: Armani lights up Palais de Tokyo

Paris Fashion Week has come to a close in the French capital.

Among the final shows, the Armani Privé‘s metallic ‘One Night Only’ collection lit up the splendid Palais de Tokyo.

In a combination of sensuality and mystery, iconic Italian designer Giorgio Armani painted a picture of twilight with dreamy colours ranging from silver and gold to midnight blue and purple.

Tight headscarves and flowing evening wear were reminiscent of 1920s flappers as depicted in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic ‘The Great Gatsby’.

Belgian designer Serkan Cura married Hollywood’s golden era with Gaultier-style chic at his Paris show.

The Turkish-born couturier, who trained with Jean-Paul Gaultier before setting up his own house, made liberal use of feathers, tiny bustiers and lace corsets.

Entitled ‘The Castaways of My Worlds’, his ultra-feminine collection drew the audience into a fantasy world, mixing cabaret with nautical and Amazonian scenes.

“I take a bit of ‘Avatar’, a little bit of ‘Pirates des Caraibes’, I mix everything and I try to do my best to find always new techniques and new ideas, new fabrics. And I shoot like a spectacle. It was very important for me not to make a fashion show but a spectacle, to make people dream, because I love to make dreams, that’s why I make my own collection and show it to everybody,” said Cura.
