Brad Pitt takes over Times Square

STORY: Brad Pitt took over New York's Times Square on Monday (June 17) to premiere his new film "World War Z."

The star walked a red, Z-shaped carpet lined with fans to celebrate the film's U.S. opening and took time to sign autographs and pose for pictures with the crowd.

"I remember when I first got to LA and I saw like the first person from a film and it - I just got a big rush out of it. And they've been waiting here all the time and that's - and I'm a dad now, you know," the actor told Reuters.

The movie is based on the novel "World War Z" which Pitt's production company Plan B Entertainment bought the screen rights to about six years ago. The zombie movie is considered to be one of the big box office releases this summer and has been under pressure to perform before even opening.

The action packed film about a clash with zombies sounds like it's something only men would like, however TV and stage actress Mireille Eno
