DORIAN GREEKS (SPARTANS - MACEDONIANS)

The three major ancient Greek tribes were the Ionians, the Aeolians and the Dorians. The Spartans and the Macedonians belonged to the same ancient Greek tribe, the Dorians. The Spartans and the Macedonian royal house (which was of Argive descent) were also related to the Heracleids, the descendants of Hercules.
