A Female Officer in the German NavyShe's the one who issues the orders on board: 27-year-old Barbara Tesch is a senior lieutenant in the German Navy. Ten years ago, Germany's armed forces opened up all branches of the Bundeswehr to women. Until then, women had only been allowed to serve in the medical service or marching bands. The German defense ministry is hoping to bring in thousands of women in the coming years.
