Palais d'Or Orchestra - I'm Nuts About Mutts

This is said to be a pseudonym for Dell (aka Del) Lampe. Lampe's group was at times identified as Lampe's Orchestra from the Trianon Ballroom. This artist's father, J. Bodewalt Lampe, went to work for him as an arranger and gets a special credit for his efforts on sides such as the 1925 "Lady of the Nile." The previously mentioned venue connection with Chicago's Trianon Ballroom came about after the Lampe outfit under any name became the first ensembles to work there with house band status following the 1922 opening. Five years later, Lampe switched his relationship to the Aragon Ballroom. Lampe orchestrated a pair of Broadway shows, Make it Snappy in 1922 and Keep Moving a dozen years later. His bandleading ended by the close of the '30s. This funny recording was made in 1933, with Bill Coty on vocal.
