The "Plight" of Mormon Women in LDS Relief Society

Watch this video to witness the "plight" of LDS women who are allegedly subjected to "oppression" and "inequality" in Mormonism.

Definitions of "plight"

1) an unfortunate, difficult, or precarious situation
2) a solemnly given pledge

Using the second definition, the real plight of Mormon women is service, love, friendship, holiness, leadership, independence, and a life-long commitment to Christian ethics. Female members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ages 18 and older, belong to the Relief Society. The Relief Society is the largest women's organization in the world with more than four million members across the globe. The Relief Society was founded by the Prophet Joseph Smith on March 17, 1842, in Nauvoo, Illinois.

In the days of its founding, it had two main purposes: to provide relief for the poor and needy and to bring people to Christ. The organization continues today, staying true to those original guiding principles as women in the Relief Society meet.
