00:00The one thing that never stops is the cycle of the National Football League.
00:07It is that keeps on giving because today is scheduled day in the NFL.
00:10Now, it doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of sports wagering yet, but you know that
00:14all of the websites and apps as soon as these games go live and are announced by the National
00:19Football League later today, you'll be able to bet on these games as well.
00:22One game in particular that will catch the eye of many will be the fact that you'll be
00:26able to watch Christmas Day football yet again this upcoming season.
00:31But there is a catch, Week 17, and the catch is you're going to be watching it on Netflix.
00:35Netflix has made the announcement official that they will be hosting a Christmas Day
00:40game this year.
00:41Now, according to several reports as of now, not confirmed, but I'm guessing that nobody
00:45would report this if it was false, the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers are going
00:50to be that Christmas Day game in Pittsburgh.
00:52Now again, Week 17, we've already seen games streamed on Amazon Prime.
00:58We're now headed over to Netflix for another streaming possibility on that day.
01:02Naturally, the NBA plays on Christmas Day as well.
01:04It used to be just them.
01:06You know, NFL added Christmas Day game last year, had a lot of success with it even though
01:09the game stunk.
01:10And this year will be Patrick Mahomes playing on Christmas Day this year against the Pittsburgh
01:15Steelers on Netflix.
01:17So that's the latest there.
01:19National Basketball Association last night, hey, the Denver Nuggets, I guess they can
01:22win at home.
01:23They did it yesterday, crushed the Timberwolves final, 1-12 to 97.
01:27Denver now leads the series three games to two.
01:29When they go back to Minneapolis, they can win the series.
01:32Jokic was incredible last night, 40 points, 13 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block.
01:38Also didn't turn the ball over.
01:40Aaron Gordon, 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal.
01:43Jamal Murray chipped in 16 points as well.
01:48So Jokic last night got the NBA's Most Valuable Player, received it in person in front of
01:54the home fans, and said that it was a moment that he will never forget.
01:59The moment of being able to receive it in front of the fans, does that ever get old
02:03for you?
02:04No, I think just like the love from the crowd that you can feel and, you know, teammates,
02:12you know, coaches, and I think it's just, you know, a moment that I'm going to remember
02:17my whole life.
02:18Nicola, in game three you had the dunk over Anthony Edwards, tonight you drove behind
02:24your head.
02:26Where's that coming from and is that a product of all, at all, of Minnesota's rim protection?
02:31Do you feel like you need to finish with more authority when you have the chance?
02:34I mean I had an open lane and I just, you know, I'm a freak of nature and why not to
02:45show my athleticism.
02:52One more game for Jokic and the Nuggets to head back to the Western Conference Finals.
02:56The Knicks are one game away from the Eastern Conference Finals.
03:00They destroyed the Pacers last night, 121-91.
03:04Indiana cut it to within about 10 as the end of the third quarter expired, but Jalen Brunson
03:09once again was the story.
03:1028 points at the half, 44 points on the game, 7 assists, 4 rebounds.
03:14Josh Hart had 18 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists as well.
03:18The Knicks were one and a half point favorites, it did not come into play, but naturally the
03:23best part of seeing Jalen Brunson's growth has been that assist number.
03:27Not just scoring, but last night posted another 7 assists.
03:31He has been arguably the best player in the Eastern Conference playoffs and Tom Thibodeau
03:37after said him being selfless has really added more to his game.
03:43Did I get you to go beyond Jalen with Jalen a bit?
03:45I mean it's the fifth time he's scored more than 40 points and he did it at a really crucial
03:49time for you guys.
03:50Well, and you're right.
03:52You're making a great point because as much as you know you talk about him and you talk
03:58about him a lot and rightfully so, it's not enough and what he means to the team.
04:04And so, and he's so willing to share everything with his teammates and I tell you like to
04:09me that's the best part of him.
04:11His play is spectacular, but who he is as a teammate, as a leader, it makes us that.
04:18And I think that's, but it's big shot after big shot and I just love, there's never any
04:24excuse making from him.
04:27He's never talking about injuries and like a lot of times you hear people talking about
04:35their injury, a lot of it's excuse making.
04:38You never get that from him.
04:40It's always, I'll be better next game.
04:41Even when he plays a great game, I'll be better next game and I love that mentality.
04:47Game six coming up in Indianapolis where the Knicks can close it out, although Indiana
04:51has won their home games as well.
04:52Donovan Mitchell, meanwhile, status to be determined for tonight's game.
04:56Boston is a huge favorite tonight, folks.
04:57It looks like 14 or 15 points over Cleveland on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
05:02Tells you Mitchell may not play in this one, although the Cavs did cover the last game.
05:06Rudy Gobert fines $75,000 for gesturing to a referee, rubbing his fingers together for
05:12that money sign gesture during game four of the Wolves' second round series of the Denver
05:16Nuggets the league announced on Tuesday.
05:19Gobert said, it was just emotions.
05:20I lost control of my emotions, also lost control of other things, I would say, in that game.
05:27Kaitlin Clark, meanwhile, made her WNBA debut.
05:30Are the odds makers good?
05:31They set her a point total at 21.
05:34She scored 20 last night.
05:37Great job by the odds makers right there.
05:39But yeah, they lost last night, set on 92 to 71.
05:42The Fever, probably not one of the better teams and going to need a lot more than Kaitlin
05:47Clark to succeed at this season.
05:48Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers closing in on hiring a new head coach, JJ Redick leads
05:53the list.
05:5439-year-old ESPN analyst, 15-year NBA veteran, he is a possibility.
05:57James Borrego, Sam Cassell, those are some of the early targets.
06:01Also Borrego, 46-years-old, associate coach of the Pelicans.
06:04Sam Cassell played in the NBA a long time and is a current assistant coach for the Boston
06:09Celtics.
06:10Redick, by the way, is not coached above the youth level, so that would be an interesting
06:14hire if they choose to do that.
06:16Meanwhile, the story continues with the translator of Shohei Ohtani, Ipe Mizuhara.
06:20He pleaded not guilty to bank and tax fraud, just a formality in an arraignment on Tuesday.
06:26It's a non-guilty plea, procedural step as the case moves forward, even though he has
06:31already agreed to the plea deal, so don't make more of it, there's nothing more to
06:35it.
06:36Philadelphia Phillies' best team in baseball reached 30 wins.
06:38Aaron Nola yesterday shut down the Mets, 4-0, perfect game into the sixth inning and complete
06:44game sixth of his career.
06:46He's been great, Phillies have been great, Bryce Harper's been great.
06:50Philly usually not getting off to great starts, but they have done it thus far in April and
06:55May.
06:56Meanwhile, former Philly Reese Hoskins is having a nice year for Milwaukee, unfortunately
06:59placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring.
07:03Owen Miller was recalled.
07:06The manager, Pat Murphy, says it's not terribly bad, but a hamstring strain is like two, three,
07:11four weeks, so gave a pseudo-timeline on that.
07:14Meanwhile, afternoon baseball today, Blue Jays, Orioles, 12-30 Eastern, Brewers Pirates,
07:181-10 Eastern, Marlins and Tigers finishing off their series, also 1-10 Eastern as well.
07:23Bit of a surprise in the National Hockey League last night, Florida Panthers playing in Sunrise
07:28with a chance to close out the Boston Bruins.
07:29They couldn't do it.
07:30Final score 2-1, so now they head back to game six for Boston and the Panthers lead
07:36the series three games to two, but Boston, of course, has had a lot of success at home
07:39this year, so we'll see what happens if Boston wins and they would go to a game seven back
07:42in Sunrise.
07:43Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers, they defeated the Canucks and they won 3-2, so that series
07:48is now tied at two.
07:49A lot of prognosticators think this series could potentially go the distance.
07:54How about a second career for offensive lineman Jason Kelsey?
07:57It's been announced that he is going to appear on ESPN's Monday Night Countdown.
08:02He played 13 years in the NFL, multi-year agreement has been signed, he's 36 years old.
08:07He'll also join ESPN's Super Bowl studio coverage in Los Angeles when they air the game.
08:13Also, Trey Hendrickson has been committed to the Bengals after requesting to be traded.
08:18Initially, Hendrickson was thought to want to leave.
08:21He announced this about a month ago after Tee Higgins sort of wanted his way out too,
08:25but after a Tuesday off-season workout, Hendrickson all smiles.
08:28It looks like he's going to be back with the Bengals this season.
