The Gawthorpe World Coal Carrying Championships returns to Yorkshire for its 61st anniversary.

The landowner agreed to delay the sale, giving residents time to raise £170,000 by the end of June.
A significant boost came from a £10,000 donation by the family of Joan Wells and her late brother-in-law Roy Boyson, both nature enthusiasts who passed away last year at the ages of 100 and 97, respectively.
