Japan Cetacean Archaeologists Unearth Whale-Sized Surprise

Japanese researchers, in collaboration with Taiwanese colleagues, have made a surprising discovery about a fossilized piece of whale jaw. The jaw turns out to have belonged to an individual from the sperm whale family, not the baleen whale family as was originally thought.
