Netflix's 'What We Watched' Report Reveals Most-Watched Show And Movie, Sparking Industry Curiosity

Netflix has released its first "What We Watched" report, which ranks almost all of its shows and movies from the past 6 months by hours viewed. It will release these reports every 6 months going forward. The Night Agent Season 1 was Netflix's most-watched show, with 812 million viewing hours. The Mother starring Jennifer Lopez was its most-watched movie. Fifty-five percent of Netflix viewing in the past 6 months came from original Netflix content, while 45% came from licensed content. This increased transparency comes after years of Netflix keeping its data private. Co-CEO Ted Sarandos said this secrecy led to distrust among creators. Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos believes the platform's large global subscriber base justifies increased transparency, a move also prompted by demands from Hollywood unions.
