Some participants of the meeting, including delegates from Arab countries, turned away during a speech by US Ambassador Michelle Taylor to the UN Human Rights Committee, journalist Suleiman Ahmed reported. It is assumed that this is due to US support for Israel against the background of the IDF's actions in the Gaza Strip.
