00:00 This is the first record where I absolutely stopped caring what people think.
00:05 Ironically, maybe that's what people are the most attracted to.
00:09 I bought groceries and I was walking home with groceries and it was really heavy.
00:20 I don't know if you've done this, but I had two bags in my elbows and then I was holding
00:26 my hands like this.
00:29 And I tend to make up songs in my head when I really want to dissociate from the moment.
00:35 I was like, "My love, my all my, my love."
00:42 And I was singing to myself and I was like, "Wait a minute, this is actually good."
00:46 And then once I got home, I put the groceries down and I recorded everything and I got it.
00:53 Moon, a hole of light, through the big top tent up high.
01:04 Here before and after me, shining down on me.
01:13 I was sitting outside and the moon was bright.
01:16 I felt like it looked like a tent was actually covering the sky and the moon was a whole
01:23 in the tent letting light in.
01:25 I couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that that moon was there before I ever existed.
01:31 It's going to keep being there long after I die.
01:34 It's like a dog at two years old is an adult and then it maybe gets 10 to 15 years.
01:41 God bless.
01:42 And in moon years, I'm like a speck of dust floating maybe for a few seconds, completely
01:49 insignificant and then I disappear.
01:51 Moon, tell me if I could send up my heart to you.
02:00 So when I die, which I must do, could it shine down here with you?
02:08 I was just thinking about how sad it was that, not that I had to die, but that I had to stop
02:14 living because I love living life.
02:18 I love people.
02:19 I love the world.
02:20 And so I was thinking, I wish this love in me that is temporary could go up to the eternal
02:28 moon and keep shining down with it.
02:31 I grew up moving around.
02:57 Nothing felt permanent.
02:58 I wasn't from anywhere.
03:00 Nothing was temporary and nothing felt like it was mine.
03:04 And then suddenly I realized, oh, but I have this thing in me that is actually fully mine.
03:11 And there's something so wonderful and gleeful about that realization.
03:16 My baby here on earth showed me what my heart was worth.
03:26 So when it comes to be my turn, could you shine it down here for her?
03:36 Since I wrote something really abstract and kind of vague in the first verse, let me ground
03:42 it in the second verse by bringing another person in.
03:45 I learned what my heart was worth and how beautiful my heart is through loving and caring
03:53 for other people.
03:54 [singing]
03:55 Because my love is mine, all mine.
03:56 I love my, my, my.
03:57 Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love.
03:58 Mine, all mine.
03:59 Nothing in the world is mine for free but my love.
04:00 Mine, all mine.
04:01 Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love.
04:02 Mine, all mine.
04:03 Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love.
04:04 My, my, my.
04:05 Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love.
04:06 My, my, my.
04:07 Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love.
04:08 My, my, my.
04:09 Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love.
04:10 My, my, my.
04:11 Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love.
04:12 My, my, my.
04:13 Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love.
04:14 My, my, my.
04:15 Nothing in the world is mine for free but my love.
04:22 Mine, all mine, all mine.
04:30 I've found that everything in the world has a cost.
04:33 In our world, there's like, do it for the exposure, you know?
04:38 You won't get paid, but do it for the experience.
04:40 Do it for the exposure.
04:42 But that's still energy you're expending.
04:44 That still has a cost.
04:45 If you go on tour, I've done a lot of DIY tours.
04:50 That helped me get to where I am today, but there was a cost to that.
04:54 There was a cost to my health, my well-being, not to mention a lot of the time I was losing
04:59 money.
05:00 So there's a cost to everything except for love.
05:04 There was something about realizing that my love is mine.
05:12 Nothing else is mine.
05:14 Everything else goes away.
05:15 Everything else, including myself, is going to deteriorate and go away.
05:20 But as long as I hold on to my love, no one can take it from me.
05:24 I can give so much love and it won't take away from me.
05:28 Like it's just this unlimited resource.
