The destructive wildfires that surged across Hawaii's Maui island in recent days have killed more than three dozen people, leaving behind smouldering ruins and forcing thousands to flee the onetime capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Sites which narrated tales of Hawaii's royal past, the largest banyan tree and the 200-year-old church are some of the landmarks which have been reduced to ashes by the disastrous wildfires in Maui.
