“Where the Blue of the Night” by Russ Columbo 1931

This beautiful song, with music co-written by Roy Turk, Fred E. Ahlert, and Bing Crosby, could not be sung better though Crosby made this song famous. Likely the two most famous crooners of the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Columbo’s short life and tragic ending is sad and shocking if you haven’t ever heard about it. Read the Wikipedia page reference below to read the story. A singer, actor, composer, violinist, and a very handsome fellow made him a sure success on records, on the radio, and in the movies. He came on the scene about the same time as Bing Crosby, but to my ear, actually had a better voice than Bing. But, they were both very good.
