The Holiday Inn is a 1942 comedy/musical/sentimental/Christmas film directed by Mark Sandrich, starring Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire and Marjorie Reynolds.

Synopsis: Two dancers, Jim Hardy and Ted Hanover, are both in love with their partner, Lila Dixon. The girl prefers to accept the courtship of Ted and Jim withdraws from the show. He opens a hotel open only on holidays that he calls the Holiday Inn. Soon, Jim falls in love with his partner, Linda Mason, who also turns out to be an excellent dancer and singer. Some time passes and Lila leaves Ted. He comes to the hotel where he finds his old partner. In the evening he dances, drunk, with Linda. The next day, Ted can't remember who he danced with but thinks that the stranger could be a great replacement for Lila. He starts looking for her everywhere, but Jim hides from him - out of jealousy - that she is her colleague. Eventually Ted manages to find Linda, falls in love with her and convinces her to make movies. The film is about Jim's Holiday Inn and he goes to the set to watch the shooting. There he finds Linda, while Ted is with Lila again: all four are finally happy together.
