Cover Girl is a 1944 musical/comedy film directed by Charles Vidor, starring Rita Hayworth, Gene Kelly and Phil Silvers.
Plot - The dancer Rusty Parker works in the nightclub of her boyfriend Danny McGuire. One day she Rusty decides to enter the contest to become the cover girl of Vanity, whose publisher John Coudair years earlier had courted the girl's grandmother, Maribelle Hicks.
Undecided whether to pursue a career as a cover girl or still work for Danny, Rusty decides to stay at the night club, provided that she is her boyfriend to ask him. But Danny doesn't want to get in the way of the girl's plans and gives her a reason to leave.
Over time, Rusty becomes a Broadway star, alcoholic and on the verge of marrying a man she doesn't love. Her until she decides to reconsider.
