At the age of two, Linda Richichi remembers thinking..."I am an artist!" She loved colour then and still does.

Both her mother and grandfather were artists with a keen sense of color. Her dad was color blind. Recent studies show daughters of those who are color blind may see color more vividly because of a fourth cone. Linda suspects this is the case.

An experience with synesthesia (hearing color) further heightened her sense of color, helping her bring the feeling of the outdoors onto the canvas.

As a teenager Linda’s first portrait commission at age 16 was actually good. In high school out of the hundreds of entries into a tri- county competition her work received top awards. And yet, her confidence was low, so she only minored in art in college the first time.

A near death experience in Linda’s early thirties caused her to follow her passion and resign from teaching makeup artistry.

After graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from SUNY, a pastel portrait was accepted into the Pastel Society of America's international exhibit at the National Arts Club. Then she studied at the Ridgewood Art Institute under John Phillip Osborne.

In 2001 Linda could no longer paint portraits because of a personal loss, and took up landscape painting. She studied in the studio of Osborne, Garin Baker and Andrew Lattimore.

Linda Richichi’s work has exhibited extensively around North America. At the

National Arts Club in N.Y.C with the Pastel Society of America she recently earned a top award and Signature status.

Plein Air Magazine awarded a landscape Best Landscape in the Plein Air Salon, November 2021.

“For me, painting is a pilgrimage – a journey into the soul and the mystery of creation.

Through color, lines and brushstrokes I portray the essence of my subjects at their highest moments.

Whether I am painting on a sun-drenched beach in Florida or Maui, in the Hudson Valley, near Italian castles or French chateaus, my "plein air" paintings capture the spirit of nature at their most inspiring times.

With years of classical training under my belt, my hand can easily follow my heart when creating a work of art that not only represents the scene but also allows the soul of the place to come forth.

Years of study with shamans has sharpened my understanding of energy, enhancing my ability to capture the invisible bringing life to each canvas.”
