Charles Remue & His New Stompers Ain't She Sweet

This is a hardly known jazzband from Belgium. No wonder, since the group existed only one year, before leader Remue went to play in London for the Savoy Orpheans. It's a pity the band was so short-lived, for they were among the best European jazz bands of the 20's. Accordingly, they most definitely deserved a second post. Fortunately we still have the recordings made during two sessions in 1927. Besides leader Remue, also playing clarinet and alto saxophone, personnel included: Harry Belein, drums and glockenspiel; Stan Brenders, piano; Alphonse Cox, cornet; Gaston Frédéric, clarinet and tenor saxophone; Remy Glorieux, bass brass and Henri Léonard, trombone.
