Ukrainian Plane Crashes In Tehran, Iran; All 176 Dead Aboard Boeing 737

A Ukrainian plane carrying 167 passengers and nine crew members crashed near the Imam Khomeini International Airport shortly after taking off. All onboard are reported dead, according to Iran's state-run Press TV. The Ukraine International Airlines plane crashed after takeoff due technical difficulties, according to Iran's semi-official news agency ISNA. However, there are reports that it could have been shot down mistakenly by the Iranian military as Iran had just carried out a slew of ballistic missile strikes at US air bases in Iraq and had been anticipating a retaliatory strike.
