아르헨티나, 세계 최초 GMO 밀 승인…수출 여부는 불확실

Argentina has become the world's first country to approve genetically modified wheat.
The country's government, and the biotechnology company that developed the GMO wheat confirmed this last week.
The government says GMO wheat is more tolerant to drought, and minimizes production loss.
But with no other country having allowed imports of GMO wheat just yet, Argentina is waiting for approval from its biggest wheat buyer Brazil before jumping into marketing.
Argentina shipped around 45 percent of all of its harvested wheat to Brazil last year.
