How the Universe delivered these two parents' dream to create a carnival party for their four year old, in the midst of the infection fear, in the midst of dangerous firestorm air pollution, in the midst of rainy weather, in the midst of travel difficulties for the entertainers these parents booked, in the midst of an enormously confusing a municipal park location, in the face of the inability of an entertainer to obtain his substitute due to his allergy to smoky air. Would their friends show up? A rise in infections created a fear of gatherings. Would people actually have fun under the overhanging fear of infections? How would physical-distancing work in an outdoor carnival birthday party? Could the balloon twister, the magician, and the face painter be able to create a bubble of fun under the overhanging fear, the need for contact tracing?
