Stranded puppy rescued from fourth-floor narrow ledge of apartment block in Indonesia
  • 4 years ago
This is the heartwarming moment a puppy was rescued after being trapped on the ledge outside the fourth floor of an apartment building.

The hapless pooch escaped from its owners' room and wandered into the small gaps of the building wall in Jakarta, Indonesia, and tiptoed across the ledge looking for a way out on September 20.

Neighbours saw the dog in distress and called the firefighters for assistance before they arrived with ladders, ropes and a net.

One of the rescuers used a rope to climb down from the roof top to reach the ledge where the dog was.

He was careful not to scare the puppy until he reached the animal and secured it inside a net.

The puppy resisted inside the net, but the heroic firefighter quickly handed it over to a colleague waiting on the roof.

The rescuer said: "It's a hard process and extremely dangerous, but this is what we've been training for. The neighbours are right to call us and not rescue the dog by themselves."

Onlookers cheered in delight after the dog was finally safe in the arms of the rescuers after almost an hour of struggle.

The dog was finally reunited with its owners who were grateful for the skilful firefighters who helped them save their pet.
