Lucknow: Police arrest protesting teachers

Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday baton charged thousands of teachers protesting in Lucknow on Teachers’ Day eve. The teachers of Prerak Shikshak Sangh had assembled outside the Legislative Assembly in Lucknow to protest against the alleged delay in payment of salaries for three years. The protesting teachers were also demanding regularisation of jobs and pension.
