It’s known to be a BJP stronghold- as the party won from here 5 times in a row in the past & in 2014, BJP’s Satish Gautam won from here with a victory margin of over 2.5 lakh. This time his candidature was opposed from within BJP ranks. Aligarh comes under the smart cities mission.
