How to Download and Install Emacs on Windows 10?

Step 1: Go to the link below:-

https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/

Step 2: Click on 'Windows' button.

Step 3: Click on 'Main GNU FTP Server'.

Step 4: Now, select the version of emacs that you want to download.

Step 5: Now, select the zip file of x86_64, and then click on it to download it.

Step 6: Now, Extract the zip file using any zip extracting software like 7-zip or winrar etc.

Step 7: Now, go to C:\ drive and create folder name 'Emacs'.

Step 8: Copy the extracted Folders from step 6 to 'Emacs' folder in C:\ Drive.

Step 9: Now, go to 'bin' folder, and then find 'runemacs' executable file, select it. Right click on it, and then hover your mouse on 'Send to', and then select the 'Desktop(Create shortcut)'.

Step 10: Now, Go to Desktop and open the 'Emacs' by double clicking on the emacs shortcut.

It's done.
