Why did Anandiben Patel resigns as the Gujarat Chief Minister?

The first woman Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Monday morning took to her social media handle to submit her resignation.Anandiben Patel requested the party to relieve her from her post after she turns 75 this November. She submitted her resignation to the top brass of the party in a letter posted on her Facebook page.
In her post she also said that she had two months earlier sought to resign from the BJP party so the new incumbent had enough time to prepare for the major upcoming events like 'Vibrant Gujarat Summit'.
