News X : SC relief for Lalu Yadav in Fooder Scam case

NewsX: In what has come as a relief for Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, the Supreme Court has restrained a Jharkhand court from delivering the judgement in fodder scam case involving the former Bihar chief minister.

This comes after the Jharkhand High Court on July 1 dismissed a petition filed by the RJD chief seeking transfer of a fodder scam from a CBI court. The verdict in the case is to be pronounced July 15.

Prasad, who faces a judgement in a fodder scam case on July 15, had filed the petition requesting transfer of case to another special CBI court as he did not "expect justice" from the present special CBI judge Pravas Kumar Singh.

The case is related to alleged fraudulent withdrawal of 37.70 crore rupees from the Chaibasa treasury of undivided Bihar and which is now a part of Jharkhand. Lalu Prasad was then the Bihar chief minister.
