Anti-rape law bill faces all party test after clearance from GoM

The new anti-rape law, which has decided to fix the age of consent to 16 and cleared by the Group of Minister is expected to be placed before the cabinet today. The Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill 2013-as the new anti-rape law is called-will also be placed before an all-party meeting on March 18. The contentious issue of fixing 16 years as age of consent is expected to witness opposition from some parties.
