Le Cardamomò sono un eclettico quartetto di musicisti: voce lirica, violino, organetti, fiati e chitarra. Propongono un repertorio ricercato e retrò di chansons francesi, pezzi onirici e un pò folli, balli balcanici, canzoni di altri tempi. Nascono nel 2010 come progetto puramente musicale, per poi unire ben presto alla performance live video-proiezioni, teatro delle ombre e racconti.
Si esibiscono in numerosi festival di teatro e musica e in locali rinomati tra cui il Platoon Kunsthalle di Berlino e la Casa del Jazz di Roma. Nel 2012 esce il loro primo album "Cardamomò".
Nel 2013 musicano i racconti di Concita De Gregorio nello spettacolo "Manchi solo tu" in scena al Teatro Valle.
Il videoclip "Valse de Meduse", realizzato con la tecnica delle ombre cinesi e la motion graphics, si aggiudica numerosi premi e nomination in festival di video e animazione in Italia e all'estero.
Lo spettacolo multimediale "Valse de Meduse Show" debutta nel 2014 a Parigi al Théatre de Verre e va in scena sold out in numerosi teatri e per la Notte dei musei all’Ara Pacis a Roma. Parallelamente esce l'album "Valse de Meduse" (2014) che è stato scaricato in cinque continenti e ha venduto più di 2000 copie. Nel 2015 Le Cardamomò partono per un Tour negli Stati Uniti e si esibiscono al Festival di musica italiana Hitweek a Miami e per le celebrazioni di Halloween a New Orleans.
Nel 2016 vengono invitati a suonare a Parigi all' esibizione del pittore Henri Landier e per la Fete de la Musique. Nel novembre dello stesso anno suonano in diretta sul palco di RaiUno in sostegno della Maratona Telethon.
Nell'estate del 2017 sono in tournée con "Valse de meduse Show" in Italia, Slovenia e Ungheria. Nell'aprile del 2018 esce per l'etichetta Bassa fedeltà il nuovo album "Vive la vie".
English Artist / Band Biography
Le Cardamomo’ is a unique band composed of four musicians: vocalist-violinist, two accordions, guitar and wings.
In 2010 the four members joined together as a music project that sooner began a multimedial show, where music meets to theatrical performance and video-art. They played in many theaters and music festivals and clubs in Italy and elsewhere in Euro- pe, including Casa del Jazz in Rome and Platoon Kunsthalle in Berlin. In 2012, they released their first record “Cardamomo’”. In 2013 they performed the music for the live show “Manchi solo tu”, staged at Teatro Valle in Rome.
In 2012, they released a music video, “Valse de Meduse”, inspired by surrealist painters and edited with motion graphics. The video won several prizes in National and International video festivals, including third prize of the public at Berlin video music awards and first prize at Imperia film festival.
Their shadow and music performance “Valse de Meduse show” appeared for the rst time at the Theatre de Verre in Paris in 2014 and was staged in several theaters in Italy, France, and the United States, including the Ara Pacis in Rome.
In 2015, Le Cardamomo’ toured the south of the United States and performed in several venues and festivals, including Hitweek Festival in Miami.
In 2016, they were invited to perform at an exhibition of Montmartre’s famous painter Henri Landier, in Paris. They also played live for the Telethon Marathon 2016 on Italian National Television channel Raiuno. In april 2018 "Vive La Vie" was released by the independent label Bassa Fedeltà.
