Hey! My name's Yazzy & I'm a singer/songwriter from North Devon in the UK. Since the age of 10 I've had my heart set on being a well known singer/songwriter.
Growing up I spent a lot of time in my parents shop, playing guitar, piano and writing songs...my mum would always have CD's playing in the showroom, by artists such as Eva Cassidy, Norah Jones, Etta James and Sam Cooke, to name a few. I feel growing up listening to those genres of music, has really influenced the artist I am today.
'Half Lioness, Half Songbird' is something I'm known as...Lioness for the big curly hair, Songbird for my singing. I feel over time as my voice and my music and my self as a person has matured this has expanded to represent me in other ways also. Lioness for my big voice. I love for my music & my singing to have power & almost every one of my songs has a climax in it, like a big lions roar. Songbird also because I can be very delicate at times, it's so important for me to write about subjects that are close to my heart.
I did my first gig and wrote my first song aged 10, by the time I was 13 I had recorded and released my first EP ‘3 Kisses’. (Which is still available to listen to now on Spotify - I always seem to never mention it). My last two releases have been my 8 track album ‘Silly Boys Breaking Hearts’ and my EP ‘Illusion Of Love’, which I released in January of this year. I’m working on and hoping to release some new music soon...Thank-you for being part of this journey with me. I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know...
