Il disco di esordio di Toria (aka Marco Torriani) è, come suggerisce il titolo, un viaggio intimo in cui mettersi a nudo e vestirsi solo di melodie vocali e strumenti acustici.
Un percorso di ricerca dell’emozione e dell’essenzialità.
Toria arriva da una lunga esperienza maturata nell’indie rock, nella musica strumentale e nell’elettronica (in diverse formazioni e come strumentista per il cantautore Bugo) e con questo primo lavoro solista esplora per la prima volta il songwriting in inglese, attingendo a sonorità che richiamano un certo Elliot Smith, i Cure più acustici ed i primi Radiohead.
Canzoni intime e malinconiche che però non si abbandonano mai al pessimismo e che, anzi, creano un viaggio circolare di esplorazione dei sentimenti, come si può dedurre da testi che declinano con dolcezza i vari aspetti del mondo interiore e della vita di relazione, anche quando questi si manifestano attraverso il dolore e la perdita.
Toria realizza un disco “privato” e personale in cui suona tutti gli strumenti, canta e produce; un disco in cui si mette a nudo vestendosi di canzoni delicate ed emotive.
Toria (aka Marco Torriani) is an Italian singer / songwriter and his debut album is a collection of personal and intimistic songs, where the melodies are left almost naked, only dressed with minmal acoustic arrangements.
It's a path trough emotions, looking for the essential elements only.
Toria's background is in thee indie rock and alternative scene, in instrumental music and electronic productions and this is his first solo experience in English, following the examples of Elliot Smith, The Cure and the first Radiohead's album.
These melancholic songs are often optimistic, and deal with sweetness and compassion even the most troubled and painful moments in life or the different steps in a relation, and sometimes even loss.
Toria played and produced all the songs of his debut album.
