Fastest-Selling Console The Japanese gaming giant has sold more than 8.7 million units in the U.S. since launching in March 2017. That's a faster pace than any other "current generation" system from Microsoft or Sony after the
same time frame. Nintendo said that 2018 was their best year since 2011. 2011 was when popularity of the
original Wii surged. Nintendo also just announced that 3 million copies of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sold in its first 11 days in the
U.S. market. The new Smash Bros. is the fastest-selling game Nintendo has ever released.
