This is the horrifying moment a middle-aged man was violently robbed in a street with his attackers beating him to the ground before swiping his wallet and phone.

It is the latest of a swathe of robberies, some violent, some resulting in death, that has swept the nation this year.

This incident happened along Stepping Lane, in Derbyshire, at around 8.20pm on August 27 when the 50-year-old was walking home.

The pair repeatedly punched him to the head and face causing him to fall to the floor and seemingly knock his head against the concrete.
