Vans x Eley Kishimoto: London | House of Vans | VANS

On July 11th, in a true manifestation of their vision to ‘Print the World’, Eley Kishimoto took over House of Vans London to celebrate the forthcoming #VansxEK collaboration.
Having five tunnels and 3,000sqm as a canvas, the London-based design duo lit up the House of Vans with a visual barrage of pattern, projection, print and inflatables, transforming their Living Art collection into a spectacularly immersive experience.
While the gallery presented prints from the collection, the assault on the senses continued elsewhere, as print came to life and spilled into the cinema, skatepark and beyond. Balloons filled the gig space and the animated creations of Eley Kishimoto darted from the cinema screen and onto the transitions and concrete surfaces of tunnel #5.
With line-up curated by Mark Eley himself, the night opened with pioneer of the French DJ scene Jerry Bouthier, before giving way to the captivating tones of Tirzah. Followed by the ever-eclectic Kero Kero Bonito, the night went on to present the finest of London’s Grime scene. The ten-strong crew of The Square – fronted by acclaimed producer and MC, Novelist – took the stage and had the room jumping. With Rudekid at the decks and Ghetts, Rival & Kyze on the mic, the night continued to go off. Logan Sama was up next, joined by D Double E and P Money on the mic, before DJ Maximum stepped up for JME. Accompanied by Frisco & Jammer of Boy Better Know, plus a guest appearance from Tempah T, it’s safe to say that JME’s set confirmed the night as one that will be remembered for a long time to come. Closing the night was an intense set from Flowdan and OGz’ Desperado, along with D Double E and P Money.
Vans x Eley Kishimoto’s Living Art will remain on display at House of Vans London until July 19th, and the collection of footwear and apparel from the collaboration will be on sale from Vans.eu from July 16th.
