Hyundai is introducing an updated 2.0-liter "Nu" engine on the 2014 Tucson GLS, which is going to replace the GL as the base trim level. The Nu engine will have more power at low to moderate speeds, which is where the current engine feels particularly wimpy. Floor the throttle at a stop light and the Tucson GL just seems to putter along. The acceleration doesn't match the raucous sound coming from under the hood.
