首位と2打差の2位から出たミケルソンは7バーディ、2ボギーの「66」で回り、「64」と伸ばしたトーマスと通算16アンダーで並んだ。17番（パー3）で行ったプレーオフ1ホール目にパーとし、パーパットを外したトーマスを退けた。

ラファ・カブレラベロー（スペイン）とティレル・ハットン（イングランド）が通算15アンダーの3位タイ。

世界ランキング1位で前年覇者のダスティン・ジョンソンは通算12アンダー7位タイ、首位で出た21歳のシュバンカー・シャルマ（インド）は「74」と落とし通算10アンダーの9位タイだった。

池田勇太は「69」で回り通算イーブンパーの46位タイ。小平智は通算4オーバー54位、宮里優作は通算9オーバー60位タイで終えた。

Phil Mickelson defeated Justin Thomas in the playoffs and won the championship. Since the "British Open" in 2013, it won the 43rd victory for the first time in 5 years.

Dasutin Johnson, the champion of the previous year in the world ranking number one, dropped 7th in 12-under-par 7, ranked 21th, and Shubankar Sharma (India), 21-year-old, dropped to "74" and was ninth in the 10-under tie.
