Oprah Winfrey Says Presidential Run Is Hinging On A Sign From God

Oprah Winfrey has said that at this time she does not intend to run for president, but there is one thing that could change her mind.

Oprah Winfrey recently said she has no firm plans to run for president, but there is one thing that could change her mind. In an interview with People, she revealed that when 2020 speculations began to swirl, "I went into prayer. 'God, if you think I'm supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.' And I haven't gotten that."  Winfrey also told the magazine that outpouring of support she's received has kept her from fully dismissing the prospect. "I had people—wealthy, billionaires—calling me up and saying, 'I can get you a billion dollars. I can run your campaign,'" she noted. "That many people saying something made me think, 'Am I at least supposed to look at the question?'"  Talk of a potential Oprah 2020 run has been circulating since her powerful speech at the Golden Globe Awards in January.  President Trump originally took the possibility in stride, noting he didn't think she would run and commenting, "Yeah, I'll beat Oprah. Oprah would be a lot fun." Later, Trump blasted Winfrey in a tweet, calling her "very insecure," and writing, "Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!"
His tweet was posted after the airing of a CBS' '60 Minutes' segment in which Winfrey sat down with Michigan voters for a discussion on Trump's first year in office.
"One year into Donald Trump's presidency, Americans remain divided, often unwilling to listen to what the other side has to say. It's happening in families, among friends and at the workplace," she reportedly said in her introduction.
