THE BASTARD SONS OF DIONISO nascono come power trio nel 2003: Jacopo, Michele e Federico si conoscono già, sono a scuola insieme, ma suonano ciascuno in un gruppo diverso. Una sera d’estate partecipano ad una jam session in una baita e l’indomani decidono di formare un nuovo trio. Insieme trovano subito una sintonia e una naturalezza immediata.
Nel 2009 approdano quasi per sbaglio in televisione. Proprio dove non avrebbero mai previsto di trovarsi. E invece di scappare, decidono che forse X-Factor può rappresentare l’opportunità per cambiare qualcosa, per iniziare a far conoscere il loro rock anche oltre le barriere provinciali.
Arrivano secondi in finale e firmano un contratto con la Sony Music; esce un EP, L’Amor Carnale, disco d’oro con oltre 40.000 copie vendute. Trascorrono l’estate del 2009 in tour e contemporaneamente registrano, con Gaudi nel ruolo di produttore artistico, il loro quarto album, In Stasi Perpetua, che rimarrà per alcune settimane nella top ten dei dischi più venduti.
A febbraio 2012 i TBSOD ricevono il premio A.F.I. (Associazione Fonografici Italiani) per il Miglior Disco Rock Indipendente del 2011. Bastardi nel nome ma non nell’animo: TBSOD sostengono numerose iniziative benefiche, sono testimoni A.D.M.O (Associazione Donatori Midollo Osseo), prendono parte al supergruppo Rezophonic.
Nel 2014 ultimano le registrazioni del loro sesto disco, dal semplice titolo “The Bastard Sons of Dioniso”, sempre con il supporto ai suoni di Gianluca Vaccaro che esce l’ 8 aprile 2014 e a cui fa immediatamente seguito un nuovo tour nella primavera-estate 2014.
Nel 2015, dopo altri migliaia di km percorsi su e giù per l’Italia, con 500 concerti di arrembante spirito rock fatti nei maggiori festival italiani, la band decide di mettere da parte (momentaneamente!) gli amplificatori e le chitarre distorte per presentarsi in una nuova chiave più intimista e confidenziale nel disco unplugged “Sulla cresta dell’ombra” uscito il 16 gennaio 2016.
TBSOD arise as a power trio in 2003: Jacopo, Michele and Federico already know each other, together they are at school, but they sound each in a different group. One summer evening participate in a jam session in a cabin and the next day decided to form a new trio. Together immediately they find a harmony and an immediate naturalness.
In 2009 they are calling almost by accident on television. Right where they never expected to be. And instead of running away, they decide that perhaps X-Factor may be the opportunity to change something, to start to show off their rock beyond the provincial boundaries.
They arrive in the final seconds and sign a contract with Sony Music; released an EP, The Amor Carnal, gold record with over 40,000 copies sold. They spend the summer of 2009 on tour and recorded simultaneously, with Gaudi in the role of artistic producer, their fourth album, In Stasi Perpetua, which will remain for a few weeks in the top ten best sellers.
In February 2012 the TBSOD receive the prize A.F.I. (Italian Phonographic Association) for Best Hard Rock Independent 2011. TBSOD support numerous charities, are A.D.M.O witnesses (Bone Marrow Donor Association), taking part in the supergroup Rezophonic.
In 2014 ultimano recording their sixth album, from the simple title "The Bastard Sons of Dionysus", always with the support to the sounds of Gianluca Vaccaro coming out the 'April 8, 2014 and which is immediately followed by a new tour in the Spring-Summer 2014 .
In 2015, after another thousands of kilometers traveled up and down Italy, with 500 concerts of arrembante rock spirit made in the major Italian festivals, the band decided to set aside (temporarily!) Amplifiers and guitars distorted to show up in a key new more intimate and confidential in the unplugged album "On shadow ridge" released January 16, 2016.
