The 20-year-old male elephant popularly known as 'Madukkarai Maharaj' died mysteriously a day after it was translocated to ATR on Sunday. Activists say the operation to trap the animal raises serious questions about conservation efforts. K Mohan Raj, an environmentalist has asked for a CBI probe into the matter.
