Major League Baseball may give umpires a mic, AP reports

Major League Baseball Umpires already go to the video booth to review calls and we may soon start to get explanations as well. According to a report by the Associated Press, MLB and umpires are currently discussing a plan to possibly implement microphones in game to explain replay rulings. One scenario reported by the AP would see the first mic used during this year's All-Star game and then slowly ramp up in the second half of the season. The umps are currently in the middle of a five-year labor deal, meaning the introduction of microphones would involve a renegotiation.
