Supreme Court won't hear transgender bathroom case

The U.S. Supreme Court managed to avoid ruling on a landmark case about transgender bathrooms rights by sending the case back to to lower courts in Virginia. Gavin Grimm, a transgender student who was born a female but identifies as male, is suing his Virginia public school after not being allowed to use his school's bathroom. Last year the Obama administration passed a law that allowed transgender students to use the bathroom they identified with, something the Trump administration rescinded on February 22. The case will no be heard in Richmond, where the court ruled in Grimm's favor back in April 2016, but now has to re-evaluate the case under the rescinded laws.
