Kraut-(Jazz)-Rock - KRAAN - Helmuth Hattler on Bass Guitar

If given the choice to see again any of the bands I saw play live "when I wore a younger man`s clothes" ;-p it would probably boil down to a choice between Joe Satriani and the (West) German Jazz Rock quartet KRAAN.

Then again, a band I certainly would NOT want to see live again, are the Rolling Stones whom I saw in Hannover in May 1990, a couple of weeks before the Football (Soccer) World Cup in Italy which event was heralded by way of a giant inflatable version of the tournament`s official mascot on the stage of the "Lower Saxony Arena" (Niedersachsenstadion) where the concert took place..

The Concert was really bad, bad according to the Rolling Stones` own standards: No one in his right mind should expect Jagger, Richards & Co to play it as though Keith Richards and Ron Wood were Jeff Beck and Alvin Lee. The one true genius among them was Brian Jones, and because he was a genius - and much more popular with the girls than both Jagger and Richards - the latter two drowned him in a swimming pool, telling the police Jones had suffered a fit of asthma whilst swimming. With Jones out of the band and as dead as dead can be, the Rolling Stones were left no choice but to become living, breathing monuments to themselves.
