Why are people eating photos of Thom York's face?

Some insisted on Reddit last week that the band wouldn't actually go and release an album this weekend, offering to eat a photo of Thom Yorke if they did. There was this guy, who retched after the first mouthful. This person, who made his Thom into a smoothie. This guy, who just tears through it. And this character, who savours every mouthful.
