Pope Francis Takes Steps against Sexual Abuse by Religious Leaders

Pope Francis is taking a firm stand against sexual abuses committed by religious leaders within the Catholic Church. The Pope is creating a special department to investigate and judge bishops accused of covering up the sexual abuse of minors and/or doing nothing to prevent it. According to Vatican correspondent Phillip Pullella the new measures pertain to bishops accused of “looking the other way” as abuses were carried out, which is important because the abuses would not have occurred had they done their jobs. teleSUR
