Elevator death: Woman decapitated in Moscow after legs get stuck in doors

A 20-year-old mother of two was violently beheaded in a freak accident when her legs got caught in the doors of an elevator in Moscow on February 6.

Olga Tilinina was out for a walk with her husband, Dmitry, 24, and their two sons, Maxim, 2, and Egor, 1. When they returned to their apartment block, Dmitry went up first in the small elevator with baby Egor.
The details of what exactly happened next are not entirely clear, but when Olga got into the car when it returned, the doors slammed shut, trapping Olga's legs. She pushed Maxim away to safety, but the elevator carried her off the ground floor. Olga was half-in, half-out and the car dragged her to the ceiling where she cracked her skull against the concrete. Her head was torn off and her body was mangled as the elevator continued to the second floor where it finally stopped.
The toddler witnessed the gory scene which left him traumatized. When he was finally reunited with his father, all he could say was, 'mama' and 'leg'.
An investigation has been launched into the deadly accident and it was revealed that the elevator had been serviced just hours before Olga became trapped in it. Neighbors also said that there had been many problems with the elevator for some time.
Olga and Dmitry originally came from Dmitrov, where Olga had been a beauty queen. Dmitry said he will devote himself to raising the couple's son in the memory of their mother.
