An Alabama man who went into a hospital in June for a circumcision then awoke after surgery to find his out that his penis was amputated.

A lawsuit was filed in state court on Tuesday, that says Johnny Lee Banks Jr. went to Princeton Baptist Medical Center last month for the circumcision operation that went terribly wrong. Banks claims no one told him why they removed his penis instead of just his foreskin.

Dr. Bivins was treating him for conditions prior to the operation and Dr. Aikens was the surgeon scheduled to perform the procedure.

His attorney John Graves, names several parties are at fault: The Urology Centers of Alabama, Dr. Vincent Michael Bivins, who works at the Baptist Health Center, as well as the Simon-Williamson Clinic and Dr. Alan C. Aikens.

A spokesperson for Baptist Health System, said the hospital intends to defend all counts firmly.
