Lebron James jersey: James picks No. 23 for Cleveland Cavs, forgets telling everyone not to use it

LeBron James took to Twitter and Instagram earlier this month to ask fans if he should go back to wearing Michael Jordan’s No. 23 for the Cleveland Cavaliers or keep the No. 6 jersey he was sporting for the Miami Heat.

Sixteen days after his decision to dump Miami, James has finally made his decision.

James announced on his Instagram account around 1 p.m. on Sunday that he would go back to wearing No. 23. He also shared the link on his Twitter account.

Three minutes later, Adidas confirmed that the company had already fired up the machines for a production run on its 20 automated printers at its sports-licensing facility in Indianapolis. The facility said it would begin shipping jerseys and James No. 23 shirts to more than 140 accounts within 48 hours.

James wore the No. 23 jersey for his rookie season in 2003-4 up to the 2009-10 season.

The first time James bounced on the Cavs, he decided to change his jersey number and said other players wearing the No. 23 should do the same thing as a way to honor Michael Jordan.

Lebron has led NBA jersey sales for six of the 11 seasons he has played in the league.
