Charlie Hebdo terror attack victims identified as journalists, a secretary and two police officers

The victims of the terror attack in Paris have been identified as ten people affiliated with Charlie Hebdo, a satirical newspaper and two police officers.

Eleven people were injured in the attack that seemed to be motivated by the magazine’s controversial cover of Mohammed.

An outpouring of support from the journalism community around the world has come in the form of cartoons honoring the artists who were killed.

Among the dead:

Stéphane Charbonnier editor-in-chief of Charlie Hebdo and wrote under the name “Charb.” "I have no kids, no wife, no car, no credit. This may be a bit pompous what I'm saying, but I prefer to die standing than live on my knees." he said in a 2012 interview with Le Monde.

Jean Cabu, 76, the magazine’s lead cartoonist. Cabu was the artist behind
the controversial February 2006 front page depicting Muhammad.

Bernard Verlhac who published under the pseudonym “Tignous”.

Georges Wolkinski who started his career as a cartoonist after studying architecture in Paris in the 1960s.

Bernard Mari economist and writer, a secretary, a man visiting the offices and a police officer patrolling the neighborhood are among the other victims.

In the attack at total of 12 people were killed and 11 were injured, officials said.
